Decision allows company to make strategic improvements that will enhance customer service and support future job growth
ENCON Equipment has strengthened its commitment to Somerset-Pulaski County by purchasing the facility it has leased for nearly three years, a move that positions this rapidly growing equipment company for continued expansion while reinforcing its confidence in the region’s future.
The company has finalized the purchase of its five-acre property at 1695 South U.S. 27, establishing the site as a permanent hub for its operations in the Lake Cumberland region.
The transition from leasing to ownership gives ENCON the flexibility to make strategic improvements to the property that will enhance operational efficiency and service delivery, expand equipment inventory, improve turnaround times, support future job growth, and create additional capacity to serve customers across the Lake Cumberland region. The investment also contributes to the continued development of Somerset’s south business corridor.

“Somerset has been an outstanding home for us for nearly three years,” said Jordan Mitchell, president and co-owner of ENCON Equipment. “Purchasing this property allows us to expand our capabilities, invest in our team and better support the customers who rely on us every day. We believe in this community, and we’re proud to make Somerset a permanent part of ENCON’s future.”
Founded in Kentucky, ENCON Equipment provides equipment rentals, sales, service and delivery for construction, landscaping, agriculture, municipal and industrial customers. Its fleet includes aerial lifts, earthmoving equipment, compaction equipment and contractor-grade tools. The company serves customers throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, with its Somerset location playing a key role in supporting the Lake Cumberland region.
Chris Girdler, president and CEO of the Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Authority (SPEDA), said ENCON’s decision demonstrates the confidence existing businesses have in Somerset-Pulaski County’s business climate.
“One of the strongest indicators of a healthy local economy is when existing businesses choose to deepen their investment in the community,” Girdler said. “ENCON’s decision to purchase its Somerset facility sends a strong message that this community is a place where businesses can succeed and grow. I first met Jordan several years ago when they entered the regional market, and I knew then that ENCON had a bright future. We appreciate the company’s confidence in Somerset-Pulaski County and look forward to supporting its continued success for many years to come.”
The announcement comes as ENCON continues to receive national recognition for its strategic growth. The company has been named the No. 1 fastest-growing equipment rental company in the nation on the Market Movers list for three consecutive years, earned a place on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies, and recently celebrated President and Co-Owner Jordan Mitchell being named an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 East Central Award finalist by Ernst & Young, one of the nation’s most prestigious honors for business leaders.
