Ride the Wave

Join the Ride the Wave Mural Trail!

Community art, tourism project offers incredible visibility for your business

Join the Ride the Wave Community Art Project and guarantee your spot on this future mural trail in Somerset-Pulaski County, which will feature fiberglass boat sculptures painted by local and regional artists!

This is incredible exposure for your business or organization, as thousands of visitors will stop by your location to view these sculptures.

SPEDA, the Somerset-Pulaski Chamber of Commerce, Lake Cumberland Tourism and See Somerset Tourism launched this public art project to celebrate Lake Cumberland, tourism and the rich arts culture in Somerset-Pulaski County. Painted sculptures will be unveiled at the 2025 Foodstock Festival on Saturday, May 10, 2025, and then placed in their permanent locations on the mural trail. The mural trail will be marketed to visitors to Lake Cumberland as an arts experience.

What does this project benefit?

Somerset Veterans Memorial Park, through the SPEDA Community Foundation (a 501(c)3 organization, making your purchase tax deductible!)

How do I find an artist?

When you purchase a sculpture, we will provide you with a list of artists who have expressed interest in this project. You do not have to choose one from that list — it is there as a guide for you. When selecting your artist, you will negotiate the fee you will pay to have your sculpture decorated directly with the artist.

Are there guidelines my artist must follow?

Yes. Please read the artist guidelines, buyer/artist contract and review the project calendar. Have more questions? Just email jessica@speda.org or call SPEDA at 606.425.5409.

Interested Artists: Please review the Call for Artist Guidelines linked below and fill out the Expression of Interest form.

Interested Buyers: Please download and fill out the Purchase Form below and return it to SPEDA CFO Jessica Carlton by e-mail at jessica@speda.org. Please also download and review all of the materials linked below.
